DEP Hosts Waterways/Wetlands Program Open House June 26 in Harrisburg
The state Department of Environmental Protection’s Southcentral Region Waterways & Wetlands Program will hold an open house on Thursday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The open house will be at DEP's Southcentral Regional Office, located at 909 Elmerton Ave., Harrisburg. This is an opportunity for property owners, homeowners, municipalities, and small developers to have face-to-face access to DEP permitting staff and ask questions. DEP can help identify required permits and explain permit applications.
The Waterways & Wetlands Program deals with work in or along streams, wetlands, ponds, lakes, rivers, and creeks, as well as earth disturbance activities of more than one acre. Common regulated activities include installation of driveway culverts, stream bank stabilization projects, and small subdivision and land development projects.
Anyone with questions about the potential presence of streams or wetlands on their property are encouraged to bring along photographs. Those who have questions but are unable to attend the open house may contact the Waterways & Wetlands Program at (717) 705-4802.
