Consumer Price Index Rises 1.0% from Oct. '12 to Oct. '13
The Consumer Price Index, a measure of inflation, increased 1 percent nationwide between October 2012 and October 2013.
The CPI is based on actual data from previous months. The total change over the prior 12 months is used by many to determine pay increases for the following year.
The next data release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which will include September figures, may be delayed due to the shutdown of the federal government.
