2019 Impact Fee Revenues Down from 2018

Friday February 21st, 2020
The state’s Independent Fiscal Office estimates that shale gas impact fee collections for calendar year 2019 will be $198 million, a nearly $54 million decrease compared to 2018. The drop is due to low gas prices and fewer wells producing and being drilled. This is the amount that producers are expected to remit to the Public Utility Commission by April 2020.

The PUC is not expected to release Act 13 impact fee distribution information for individual municipalities before June 15. Once distributions are calculated, townships will find this information at www.act13-reporting.puc.pa.gov. Note that the distribution for calendar year 2019 will be made to townships around July 1, 2020.
