$80 Million in Law Enforcement Grants Approved

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) approved $80 million in grants to improve crime reporting and help law enforcement upgrade equipment. Some of the funding will allow law enforcement to modernize crime reporting systems to meet national standards and enable statistics reporting to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Data not reported in the new federal format results in artificially low national crime stats since PA and other state crimes committed are not included.

Many townships and regional police departments received grant awards, including Bensalem Township, Bucks County and Lehigh Township, Northampton County. Click here for the press release and the full list of awardees and amounts.
