CDC Strengthens COVID-19 Booster Recommendation, Expands to 16-and-17-year-olds
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky stated, “Today, CDC is strengthening its booster recommendations and encouraging everyone 16 and older to receive a booster shot.” She noted that initial data suggests that boosters should strengthen protection against COVID-19 variants, including the Omicron variant. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is now authorized and recommended for teens age 16 and 17. More information is available on CDC’s website.
