Gas Tax Holiday a Vacation From Commonsense 

As consumers, nobody likes the high gas prices, but grandstanding “tax holidays” and treating voters like they are idiots are both bad options according to a Pittsburgh newspaper. The cost to drive a mile is actually down over the past 40 years, and that has led to not enough money being invested in road and bridge maintenance and repairs.  When cost to driving a mile is adjusted for inflation and fuel efficiency, the per mile cost has gone from a high of .30 cents per mile in the 80s to approaching only 20 cents per mile now.
