Threat Assessment and Threat Management Symposium Slated for June 8-9
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Governor’s Office of Homeland Security, and Pennsylvania State Police, in partnership with the state Department of Education’s Office for Safe Schools, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, and the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals Mid-Atlantic Chapters invite municipal officials to attend a two-day symposium on Threat Assessment and Threat Management. The symposium will be held June 8-9 at the Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill, Cumberland County.
Attendees will be trained to recognize behaviors and indicators of those on the pathway to violence, supported by FBI research. The training will cover how to conduct a threat assessment and develop threat management plans in an inter-disciplinary team. The symposium will include information on establishing multi-agency county-based teams composed of law enforcement, educational resources, social and community support resources, and mental health practitioners, to proactively identify individuals on the pathway to violence.
