Recreation Workshop This Thursday in Montour County
The Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society, supported by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, is presenting a Community Recreation Exchange this Thursday, May 11, at the Danville Area Community Center in Montour County. Elected and appointed municipal officials, managers, parks and recreation boards, volunteers, and others involved in parks and recreation planning, programming, maintenance, and more will benefit from this engaging and informative workshop.
The workshop, which runs from noon to 4 p.m., will feature several sessions from local experts on grant and funding opportunities, managing parks, event planning, and working with your local community. The exchange will feature presentations, open discussions, networking, and a local park tour to highlight and discuss ways to enhance park and recreation resources.
The cost is $10 per person and includes a networking lunch. Registration is on a first-come basis, and continuing education units (0.2 CEUs) are available for workshop participants.
