New WalkWorks Program Funding Opportunity  

The Pennsylvania Department of Health has announced a new WalkWorks Capacity-Building funding opportunity towards the development of active transportation plans (ATPs). Funding is available for townships to create a plan which will identify and prioritize projects related to modes of active transportation with an emphasis on walking, biking, using a wheelchair, and public transit.  

Townships within State Physical Activity and Nutrition target counties (Clearfield, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mercer, and Northumberland) or DEP Environmental Justice areas are eligible to apply through July 28. Please visit this map to see if your township is in an eligible target area.
