Rural and Tribal Assistance Pilot Program
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Build America Bureau released a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the new Rural and Tribal Assistance Pilot Program created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. A total of $3.4 million in funding will be available for Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023. Townships are eligible to apply beginning August 14, 2023, and there is no match required.
Grants may be used to hire staff or advisers to help with early development-phase activities, including but not limited to feasibility studies; preliminary engineering and design; environmental review; revenue forecasting; financial feasibility analysis; statutory and regulatory analysis; and drafting and negotiation of agreements.
