Inflation Continues, Slow and Steady
The Consumer Price Index rose 0.2% in July, the same increase as in June, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The all-items index increased 3.2% for the 12 months ending July, slightly more than the 3% increase in the period ending in June. The fuel oil index saw the biggest increase at 3%, the first increase this year after a trending decline each month. The used car and truck index had the largest decrease, down 1.3%.
