Volunteer Fire Companies Receive Grants
The Shapiro Administration announced that $880,000 in grants have been awarded to help Pennsylvania’s rural communities increase protection from wildfires. Funded federally, grants were awarded on a cost-share basis for wildfire suppression equipment and protective clothing and other fire suppression uses. To see the list of awardees, click here. PA American Water also announced volunteer fire company grant recipients for its Firefighting Support Grant Program. The program provides financial assistance to fire and emergency organizations in the company’s designated service areas. Grants cover costs for personal protective gear, communications equipment, firefighting tools, training, and more. Click here for the list of awardees.
