Get Your Glasses Ready! Solar Eclipse 2024 is Here! 

Pennsylvania is one of only 13 states in the path of totality for today’s solar eclipse. Crawford and Erie counties will see a total solar eclipse, as well as portions of Mercer and Warren counties. If you live in the areas of totality, take a few minutes today to experience this unique event, which will start at about 2 p.m. with the moon beginning to travel in front of the sun. Totality will occur from about 3:16 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. in these areas, with the remainder of the state seeing the moon covering 90% to 99% of the sun. The eclipse will conclude at about 4:30 pm today. Even if there are clouds blocking the sun, be sure to go outside and take a few minutes to experience this phenomenon if you live or are near the path of totality.
