Reminder: PCCD Municipal Police Reporting Systems Grant Applications Due 6/13

Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) has $10 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act funding available to support system upgrades, which will enable the reporting of crime statistics to the FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).  Nationally, Pennsylvania is woefully behind in this reporting resulting in crime statistics being greatly underestimated.

Municipal police departments can apply through June 13, 2024, for the following eligible program activities and expenses: software, hardware, and labor needed to install NIBRS-compliant record management systems; agency training on how to collect and submit NIBRS data; and/or technical assistance for personnel responsible for data collection and submission. PCCD expects to fund approximately 50 grants with budgets up to $200,000 over the two-year project period.

Applications must be submitted through PCCD’s E-grants system. For more information, visit PCCD’s funding announcements page. Questions can be directed to ra-pccd-ocjsi@pa.gov with “NIBRS Upgrade” in the subject line.
