Abandoned Mine Restoration Grants Awarded

The state Department of Environmental Protection awarded $5.6 million for eight abandoned mine land and abandoned mine drainage restoration projects. The funds will be used to clean up abandoned mine lands and protect Pennsylvania communities. Broad Top Township in Bedford County received funds for abandoned mine drainage projects, including sampling of water from abandoned mines. Click here for the press release.
