Would You Like to Reduce Energy Costs for Township Facilities? Free Webinar 6/25 on New Municipal Grants and Low-Interest Loans
The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority has $1.8 million available for a new grant and financing opportunity, the Municipal Opportunities for Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (MORE) Program, that is designed to help local governments become more energy efficient and reduce energy costs. A free webinar will be held Tuesday, June 25, from 9 to 10 a.m. to help municipal officials learn more about this new program. To participate, click here to go to the MORE website and scroll down to join the Microsoft Teams Meeting.
MORE grants and low-interest loans are available on a first-come, first-served basis to townships with populations below 35,000 to support energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Grants of up to $50,000 can be used to pay for Level 2 Commercial Energy Audits of buildings and/or facilities and to perform Energy Conservation Measure project design. MORE grants can also be used to reduce the interest rate for MORE loans for facility retrofits down to 0%.
Townships can apply for MORE grant funding through October 25. The MORE Loan will remain open as long as funds are available. Visit the MORE Program website for more information and updates.
