Townships Encouraged to Approve America250PA Resolution

Independence Day is just around the corner and with this year’s celebration, we will be just two years away from the 250th birthday of the United States, which will take place in 2026! America250PA was formed to celebrate this anniversary and Pennsylvania’s leading role in the birth of our nation. Pennsylvania is the first state to have 100% of counties resolve to join in the celebration, and over 280 townships have also pledged to join in this momentous occasion.  

Townships can become official partners of America250PA by approving a sample commemorative resolution at an upcoming meeting (should you choose). Click here for a copy of the resolution. Townships are also encouraged to plan events, observances, and other activities to highlight their community’s importance in the commonwealth over the last 250 years.
