Townships Hold National Night Out Events Today

National Night Out is a national-community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and is held nationwide the first Tuesday is August, which is today, August 6. It provides a great opportunity to bring police, other first responders and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Many townships and municipal police departments are hosting events this year across the commonwealth that are family-oriented fun events. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is participating in several events to promote responsible alcohol use and spread messages against underage drinking. The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association is promoting National Night Out and notes that more than 200 events are scheduled today statewide.

PSATS applauds townships, their police departments and other first responders who are working to improve relationships with their communities through National Night Out or many other local community events. To learn more about National Night Out, click here.
