IFO Releases Estimated 2024 Natural Gas Impact Fee 

The Independent Fiscal Office released estimates for the 2024 natural gas impact fee, which will be distributed to municipalities in July 2025. The IFO estimates that the total collections will be $163.8 million, down 8.8% from the $179.6 million collected for 2023 and distributed in 2024. The reason for the decrease is that fewer new wells are being drilled, and the fee schedule is expected to be at its lowest level based on the low average price of natural gas. Click here to read the report.
