Federal Flood Mitigation Grants Round Open

Townships that are planning flood mitigation projects should take note that the 2024 FEMA Flood Mitigation Assistance/Swift Current Disaster Mitigation Grants period is open, with an extended deadline for the required non-contractual Letter of Interest. The federal share of $20 million will be set aside for Pennsylvania to fund eligible mitigation activities.

Potential applicants must send a non-contractual and required Letter of Interest (LOI) form to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) at RA-Shazmitoff@pa.gov by COB, December 30, 2024. This one-page fillable form is available on the PEMA website at https://tinyurl.com/yjpbudx3.

Eligible Projects

Swift Current Grants fund individual flood mitigation projects for flood mitigation assistance and/or NFIP-defined repetitive loss (RL), severe repetitive loss (SRL), or properties deemed substantially damaged after the applicant’s disaster declaration start date.

All COMPLETE 2024 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Swift Current applications must be submitted in FEMA GO (Grant Outcomes Platform) by 5 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025.
