Did your township complete a successful project last year that improved the quality of life for your residents? If so, take a few minutes this week to nominate your project for the 2025 Governor’s Awards for Local Government Excellence. These awards recognize local officials and municipalities for success in innovating to improve the quality of life in their communities. Awardees are recognized during Local Government Week in April and again at the PSATS Conference. 

Townships may nominate projects in the following categories: 

· Building community partnerships; 

· Responding to adversity; 

· Promoting community/economic revitalization; 

· Innovative community/governmental initiatives; 

· Fiscal accountability and best management practices; 

· Innovative planning and sound land use practices; 

· Intergovernmental cooperation; 

· Information technology; and 

· Health and wellness initiatives.
