The Hometown Heritage grant program commemorates historically significant people, places, things or events with historical roadside markers. This nationwide program seeks to capture local history, especially for those subjects which may not qualify for the state marker program. Markers must recognize a historical fact that occurred more than 100 years from the year of application (currently, 1925) and grant awards will cover the entire cost of a marker, pole, and shipping.
