CFA Announces Multimodal Grant Awards for $87 million in Transportation Projects
The Commonwealth Financing Authority announced its approval of 223 transportation improvement projects statewide, totaling $87 million. The CFA’s Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable transportation system. These funds can be used for streetscapes, lighting, sidewalk enhancements, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets, and transit-oriented development. Local matches have been waived in recent grant rounds as part of the state budget.
More than 70 townships received awards, including the following:
- Frailey Township, Schuylkill County, will receive $453,881 to replace a bridge;
- Lehigh Township, Wayne County, will receive $468,204 for streetscape improvements;
- Eldred Township, McKean County, will receive $228,850 to reconstruct a township road;
- Worcester Township, Montgomery County, will receive $1 million to fund Corridor Improvement Phase I on Valley Forge Road; and
- Perry Township, Mercer County, will receive $100,000 for a culvert replacement project.
