Municipal Reports Due in Coming Weeks
Townships have many reports due each year, and several of these reports are due in the coming weeks. Several of these reports are required to receive revenue from these programs:
- AG-385 MUNICIPAL PENSIONS AND FIRE RELIEF PROGRAMS: Required to receive the Foreign Fire Insurance Tax Distribution for your fire companies and General Municipal Pension System State Aid Programs for those with pensions. All townships must complete the online form by March 31 at munstats.pa.gov/forms.
- REQUEST FOR LIQUID FUELS TAX REFUNDS: Townships are exempt from paying the liquid fuels tax when purchasing fuel. If your township paid the tax, you may request an annual refund by March 31 using a preprinted form from the Board of Finance and Revenue. If you do not have a preprinted form or need to request a refund, call 717-787-6534 to request a form.
- ANNUAL AUDIT & FINANCIAL REPORT: Township elected auditors or the appointed CPA (whichever is responsible for performing the audit) are required to complete the 2024 audit and submit audit reports to DCED at munstats.pa.gov/forms by April 1.
- RCT-900 PURTA REPORT: All townships need to complete this form, which is required to receive funds from the public utility realty tax. The state imposes this tax on public utility real estate in lieu of local real estate taxes and distributes the funds to all local governments. Reports must be filed by April 1 on mypath.pa.gov to qualify for a PURTA revenue distribution in October.
