PSATS Participates in Commonwealth Opioid Settlement Briefing

Yesterday, PSATS Executive Director Dave Sanko and Board Chair A.J. Boni participated on the task force to design the distribution formula for the national $25 billion settlement from opioid drug manufacturers. The Pennsylvania share is slightly more than $1 billion dollars, which Shapiro pointed out exceeded a normal population-based distribution model and was weighted for the addiction and deaths in the Commonwealth. The PSATS invitation to participate came from Attorney General Josh Shapiro when he met in late July with the PSATS Executive Board and noted that the opioids are not just an urban city problem.
