Department of Justice Grant Funding Available

The U.S. Department of Justice announced more than $139 million in grant funding through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services COPS Hiring Program. The awards provide direct funding to 183 law enforcement agencies, allowing those agencies to hire 1,066 additional full-time law enforcement professionals. These temporary funding grants will transition costs to local taxpayers over the course of several years. Congratulations to Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, which was one of the awardees.
