Active Transportation Pre-Planning Assistance Available

The state Department of Health (DOH) is accepting applications for the second round of the capacity-building pre planning program under the WalkWorks initiative. This program is designed to prepare municipalities to apply in 2025 for funding to develop active transportation plans.  

Townships located in DOH State Physical Activity and Nutrition counties (Clearfield, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mercer, Northumberland) or in communities with an overall percentile rating above 60 in the 2023 DEP PennEnviroScreen Tool are eligible to apply through May 31, 2024. For more information, visit the funding opportunity announcement.
