Better Federal Customer Service on the Way?
U.S. President Joe Biden’s latest executive order aims to change the way the federal government provides service to individuals, businesses, and entities, including local governments, to make it more customer-friendly and reduce red tape. The ambitious proposal includes streamlining processes to apply for benefits, including Social Security, Medicare, and disaster assistance, creating online processes for renewing passports and paying student loans, and allowing individuals to update addresses just once with the federal government, instead of repeating the process across many agencies.
