Community Forestry Bus Tour Slated for October 12 in State College
Township officials interested in learning about community forestry issues and research may want to attend the Community Forestry Bus Tour hosted by Penn State Extension with support from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The five-hour event will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, at Orchard Park, 1014 Bayberry Drive, State College.
Participants will tour the State College area and learn about programs that have enabled the community to successfully plant and maintain its trees for years. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from Penn State Extension’s Urban Forestry Team, representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Forestry, professional arborists, and shade tree commissioners.
