Free LTAP Drop-In: Introduction to the Use of Drones for Municipal Roadway Operations and Maintenance
Unmanned aerial systems (UAS), or drones, is an increasingly utilized technology by state and local governments for roadway operations and maintenance. This drop-in session will cover some of the basics on drones, such as required training, restricted area and uses, and operation costs. Examples of municipal roadway applications will be discussed, and participants will be asked where they see potential for uses in their own municipalities. The instructor will also provide information on different drone types, photo and video quality, typical battery life, flight ranges, and more.
