Grants Available for Fire Companies Responding to Gas Well Incidents

Volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services and rescue companies in the 40 Pennsylvania counties where unconventional gas well drilling has occurred may apply for grants to respond to gas well incidents. These grants allow responders to acquire specialized training, skills, and equipment to respond to gas well related emergencies to keep communities safe. 

The State Fire Commissioner’s Office is accepting applications until November 30. Funding comes from the Act 13 impact fees. Click here for the press release and click here to learn more about the grant program and how to apply.
