Inflation Continues Slow Upward Trend
The Consumer Price Index bumped up in December by .4% after rising .3% in November and .2% for each of the previous four months, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Over the last 12 months, the all-items index increased 2.9% before seasonal adjustment, after rising 2.7% for the 12 months ending in November and 2.6% for the 12 months ending in October.
The index for energy rose by 2.6% in November, accounting for over forty percent of the monthly. The food index also increased .3% for the month and 2.5% over the last year. Click here for the press release.
