Local Governments May Access FCC Data for Broadband Maps
The Federal Communications Commission recently released the production version of its Broadband Serviceable Location Fabric. Internet service providers and governments may access the Fabric, which is made of layers of data sources that will serve as the foundation for the national broadband maps that the FCC is constructing. These maps will highlight locations that are underserved or unserved by broadband service. To access the data, townships need to register with the FCC’s Broadband Data Collection system.
