This week is Work Zone Awareness Week, a national spring campaign held at the start of construction season to encourage safe driving through work zones. This year’s theme is “Respect the zone so we all get home.” Encourage drivers to slow down on local roads to keep township road workers safe!  

PennDOT has stated there were 1,200 crashes in work zones last year. Twenty-two of those incidents resulted in fatalities. Just last week, a construction worker was killed  (April 14) while working on Route 581 in Cumberland County
