New Post Office Service Standards Take Effect October 1
Beginning October 1, the U.S. Postal Service will implement new service standards for first-class mail and periodicals. While standards for first-class and periodicals mailed within a local area will not change, those items traveling longer distances will see transit time standards increase by 1 or 2 days. The USPS contends that the changes will allow it to maintain service on items mailed within a local area.
The USPS urges consumers to plan ahead and send mail earlier, particularly for long distances that would take more than a day to drive to. Click here for more.
