PA Broadband Infrastructure Program Map Tool Available

The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) has created an ArcGIS Online map to assist potential applicants of the Capital Projects Fund Broadband Infrastructure Program (BIP) to identify eligible areas for broadband infrastructure projects and estimate the number of locations they can serve.

The map shows the status of broadband serviceable locations in Pennsylvania, based on FCC Broadband Data Collection. Township officials can toggle dataset layers and test potential project area sites to see the count of served, underserved, and unserved locations. Users can draw a project area using the select tool, and the data counts will display as a bar graph in the bottom left corner of the screen.

As a reminder, the BIP program will provide grants for broadband infrastructure projects in unserved and underserved areas of the commonwealth. Townships are eligible to apply through July 10, 2023, for projects that deliver service that meets or exceeds download and upload speeds of 100 MPS, with prioritization to fiberoptic deployment.
