PA Unemployment Rate Holds at 3.4% as U.S. Rate Increases
Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was 3.4% in January, the tenth consecutive month at this rate. This is just 2/10ths of a percentage point above its record low from last summer. Meanwhile, the U.S. unemployment rate has increased to 4.3% and increased 2/10ths of a percent over its June rate.
Pennsylvania’s total non-farm jobs were up 12,200 over the month to a record high of 6,191,000. Jobs increased from June in six of 11 industry super-sectors, with the largest gain in government.
