PEMA Council Approves Governor’s Disaster Declaration for I-95 Collapse
Yesterday, Lt. Gov. Austin Davis led a required meeting of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Council to review the Proclamation of Disaster Emergency signed by Gov. Josh Shapiro on Monday. The council voted unanimously to approve the governor’s proclamation, which makes $7 million in state funds immediately available to reconstruct the collapsed portion of I-95 and authorizes the state agencies to use all available resources and personnel and waives bidding requirements. The Proclamation will remain in effect for 21 days or until extended by the General Assembly.
