PENNVEST Announces Awards for Water Grants, Loans

The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) announced grant and loan awards of $288.2 million for 39 drinking water, wastewater, and non-point source projects across 24 counties. The projects include replacing lead service lines, rehabilitating aging systems, upgrading service capabilities, extending service to more communities, and reducing environmental contaminants through compliance with current regulatory levels, including remediation of PFAS and PFOS contaminants.  

Several projects will benefit township residents. Berwick Township, Adams County receives a loan for a headworks improvement project. Aqua Pennsylvania received an award that will reduce PFAS in drinking water for residents in Upper Uwchlan and West Whiteland Townships in Chester County. Aqua also received a loan to mitigate PFOS and PFOA contamination in drinking water for residents of Dallas Township, Luzerne County. The Brookville Municipal Authority received a grant to remove lead water service lines in Brookville Borough and Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County. Click here to read the press release and learn about more projects that will benefit township residents.
