April is National Safe Digging Month, and the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is reminding anyone involved in excavation projects of the importance of calling 811 before beginning a project and allowing three business days for facility owners to locate and mark lines before digging begins.  

According to the most recent PUC data, about 40% of all line “hits” are caused by failure to contact PA One Call by calling 811 before excavation or failing to wait the required three business days before projects may begin. Click here to learn more.
