Recreation Economy for Rural Communities Planning Assistance
The U.S. EPA is now accepting applications for planning assistance in the 2024 round of the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities program to help communities develop a vision for revitalization through outdoor recreation.
Townships and regional organizations, including councils of governments, are eligible to apply through October 16, 2024. Small towns, rural communities, and communities located in the Appalachian region will receive special consideration during the selection process. Planning assistance includes targeted facilitation from subject matter experts; connection with regional, state, and federal partners; and the convening of an in-person workshop to identify the community’s vision, goals, and actions they wish to take to boost outdoor recreation.
