Reminder: New WalkWorks Program Applications Due July 28  

The state Department of Health has announced a WalkWorks Capacity-Building funding opportunity toward the development of active transportation plans (ATPs). Funding is available for townships to create a plan to identify and prioritize projects related to modes of active transportation with an emphasis on walking, biking, using a wheelchair, and public transit.   

Townships in State Physical Activity and Nutrition target counties (Clearfield, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mercer, and Northumberland) or DEP Environmental Justice areas are eligible to apply through July 28. Please visit this map to see if your township is in an eligible target area.
