Reminder: WalkWorks Active Transportation Plan Grant Applications Due May 26 

The state Department of Health (DOH) and Pennsylvania Downtown Center are accepting grant applications for the WalkWorks Initiative until May 26. Funds are available to assist with plan development to identify and prioritize active transportation projects with an emphasis on walking, biking, wheelchair use, and public transit. The active transportation plan may be part of a comprehensive plan as required by the Municipalities Planning Code or a stand-alone document.   

Townships may apply. Priority will be given to communities located in DOH’s State Physical Activity and Nutrition grant priority counties or the Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Justice Areas. For more information, please visit the DOH WalkWorks webpage.
