Rep. Pam Snyder Appointed Chair of Broadband Authority
Gov. Tom Wolf has appointed Rep. Pam Snyder (D-Greene/Fayette/Washington) as the new chair of the recently established Pennsylvania Broadband Authority. As chair, Snyder will play a fundamental role in crafting a statewide broadband plan, as well as distributing state and federal funds allocated for internet expansion in Pennsylvania. The authority is expected to oversee the distribution more than $100 million in federal funds for broadband.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve as chair and help more Pennsylvanians get online,” said Snyder. “It’s very exciting, the PA Broadband Development Authority will bring internet access to all corners of the commonwealth. The creation of this authority is a huge step forward for rural Pennsylvanians and all who lack high-speed internet in our state.”
