WalkWorks Program to Develop Active Transportation Plans
The state Department of Health has announced the third round of WalkWorks Capacity-Building funding opportunity toward the development of active transportation plans (ATPs). Funding is available for townships to create a plan to identify and prioritize projects related to modes of active transportation with an emphasis on walking, biking, using a wheelchair, etc.
Townships in State Physical Activity and Nutrition priority counties (Clearfield, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mercer, and Northumberland) or those with an overall percentile rating above 60 in the DEP’s PennEnviroScreen Tool are eligible to apply through July 18, 2025.
