We Will Never Forget
Twenty-three years ago, on the morning of September 11, 2001, we witnessed a day of sorrow and tragedy. Each year, we remember the dedication, commitment, and strength of those who responded, including a rural township in western Pennsylvania.
Flight 93 crashed at 580 miles per hour after brave passengers thwarted the terrorists’ plan. The plane went down in a remote, empty field in western Pennsylvania, unlike the other 9/11 sites. There were no buildings to collapse, no crowds to witness the horror, and no survivors to flee.
First responders in Shanksville, New York, and Arlington ran towards the danger, not knowing what they would find, hoping to save lives. The scenes they encountered were unimaginable.
The events of 9/11 forever changed these men and women. What was meant to destroy has made them, and millions of others, more resilient.
Today, we remember these heroes. Take time to lend a hand; even the smallest act of service and kindness honors our emergency responders.
We will always remember.
