Would You Like to Reduce Energy Costs for Your Township?
The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority has $1.8 million available for a new grant and financing opportunity, the Municipal Opportunities for Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (MORE) Program, that is designed to help local governments become more energy efficient and reduce energy costs. The deadline for MORE grants has been extended until December 6, 2024.
MORE grants and low-interest loans are available on a first-come, first-served basis to municipalities with populations below 35,000 (and who were not eligible for the federal block grant program listed below) to support energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Grants of up to $50,000 can be used to pay for Level 2 Commercial Energy Audits of buildings and/or facilities and to perform Energy Conservation Measure project design. MORE grants can also be used to reduce the interest rate for MORE loans for facility retrofits down to 0%.
The MORE Loan will remain open as long as funds are available. Visit the MORE Program website for more information and updates. Contact Alayna Schmeider, Energy Program Specialist, with questions at aschmeider@pa.gov or 717-783-0908.
